About
“When we deny the story, it defines us. When we own the story, we can write a brave new ending.”
- Brené Brown
I have been working in the field of psychology since 2016, where a majority of my work focused on adolescents/young adults in crisis and those who struggle with addiction issues. I feel that every client, along with their family or loved ones, processes and copes with adversity, trauma, and mental health issues differently; therefore, tailoring treatment to meet the needs of each of my clients and their families is something I value. I believe in building a strong, therapeutic rapport with my clients in order to create a more comfortable environment for openness and honesty.
I take a multicultural approach, keeping in mind different cultural factors that are important to the family and client as a whole and how this can be incorporated into treatment. My primary goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and judgment-free environment for my clients, providing them with unconditional positive regard, honesty, empathy, and a sense of comfort. No one should have to go through adversity, trauma, or even just day-to-day issues alone. My style is warm and honest, and I use different modalities of treatment as they best fit the needs of the client.
Experience
I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Penn State University in 2018. I immediately started working toward my Master’s in Counseling at Arcadia University. I am currently in my third and last year, where I am mainly focusing on my internship and providing evidence based treatment to the clients that I meet with. My concentration is in Child & Family therapy, where I continue to expand my knowledge and experience working with adolescents and their families to find ways to cope with adversity.
I have experience working in an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting, as well as drug and alcohol setting in both inpatient and outpatient. Through my inpatient experience, I primarily worked with adolescents and young adults struggling with depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. I also have experience working with LGBTQIA+ clients in these settings.
Through my own personal and professional experience, my areas of interest include working with adolescents and young adults, issues with depression, anxiety, and mood disorders, as well as trauma and LGBTQIA+ specific issues.
